Kauai Aadheenam Matavasi Medical Fund

Kauai Aadheenam, popularly referred to as Kauai's Hindu Monastery, is a traditional south Indian monastery located on the northern most of the Hawaiian islands, Kauai. It serves as the headquarters for the global activities of Saiva Siddhanta Church, Himalayan Academy and Hindu Heritage Endowment.

The monastics at Kauai Aadheenam have a health philosophy which incorporates an ayurvedic, wholistic and preventive medicine approach to health care. Medical insurance is not affordable in the Aadheenam budgets, but most of the monastics qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. Funds are needed for medical supplies and treatments which are not covered by these health care programs. Grants from this endowment help to subsidize the Aadheenam’s regular and major medical budgets.
